I am the third generation from my Chinese family to settle in Canada. I taught Art, Drama and Film in secondary schools in Canada for a few years before moving to London, UK to continue teaching and developing my personal art practice.
Daily life and human connection are common themes throughout my work. Whether I’m on public transit or walking in my neighbourhood, I am always looking for the next strange oddity to capture.
People are also a subject of interest. I try to photograph friends, family, and strangers during moments when they aren’t aware of my presence.
In the studio and on the street, my photographic practice is direct and investigative. I do not exaggerate, mask or beautify what I observe. I survey how people perform their routines in the public realm, or behave under the gaze of my camera.
I am currently open for photographing events, portraits and products.
